Thanks, but no thanks!
This video came from Trends in Japan aka CScout Japan. It shows a place called Tokyo Summerland with its "wave" pool where apparently thousands can jump in to cool off. I can't imagine trying this with so many people, but it's the Obon holiday and people will do anything to escape the sweltering heat.

Maybe they were trying for a world record? That's pretty ridiculous, even given Japan.
Hi, I had found your blog before you left Tokyo. Just wanted to say I enjoy reading your posts being an expatriate myself : )
All I can think is that "somone" had to pee, and if they were in the middle of that pool I doubt they made any attempt to seek out a restroom...
